Privacy Policy

Your worship data is yours. Here's exactly what we collect, and what we promise never to do with it.

Effective date: August 14, 2026  ·  App: Mizanuk (ميزانُك)  ·  Website: mizanuk.com  ·  Contact: contact@mizanuk.com

Mizanuk was built to help you stay consistent in your daily worship — nothing more. Your prayers, your Qur'an reading, your dhikr, your reflection — this is between you and Allah. We are simply holding the mirror.

Because of that, we made three promises to ourselves before we wrote a single line of this policy:

Everything after this explains, in detail, what that means in practice.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you create a Mizanuk account (email sign-in), we collect your email address. This is used solely to let you sign in and recover your account if you change or reinstall your phone, and to keep your prayer history, Qur'an progress, dhikr counts, and level progress backed up and synced across your devices. We do not use your email for marketing unless you separately and explicitly opt in, and you can opt out at any time.

Location data. Mizanuk uses your device's GPS location to calculate accurate prayer times and the Qibla direction for where you are. Location is used only to perform this calculation — it is not sold, shared with advertisers, or used for any other purpose.

Your worship activity. To power the app's core features, we store the data you generate by using it: prayer confirmations, Qur'an reading progress (last position, bookmarks, time spent reading), dhikr counts and session history, daily deeds and voluntary worship entries (Nawafil, fasting, charity, etc.), and your level and consistency history (Reports). This exists so the app can function — showing your progress, syncing it across your devices, and generating your reports. It is never used for anything else.

Technical and device information. Standard technical information (device type, operating system version, app version, and — if a crash occurs — basic diagnostic information) may be collected to keep the app stable and fix bugs. This does not identify you personally beyond what's needed to fix the issue.

2. What we do not do

3. Services we rely on to run the app

Mizanuk uses a small number of trusted third-party services strictly to operate the app. Each one receives only the minimum information needed to do its job:

ServiceWhat it's used forWhat it receives
Firebase (Google Cloud)Account sign-in, and secure storage/sync of your prayer, Qur'an, dhikr, and deeds dataEmail address, and the worship data described in Section 1
AlAdhan APICalculating prayer timesYour latitude/longitude, sent only at the moment prayer times are calculated
Quran Foundation APIProviding Qur'an translations and tafsir textNo personal data — only the verse being requested

These providers are bound by their own privacy and security obligations and are not permitted to use this data for their own purposes, including advertising.

4. Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest, via Firebase's infrastructure. While no system can guarantee absolute security, we take reasonable technical and organizational steps to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

5. How long we keep your data

We keep your account and worship data for as long as your account is active, so your history and progress remain available to you. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data and worship history within 90 days, except where we're required to retain limited records by law.

6. Your rights and choices

Wherever you are, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@mizanuk.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable law (including GDPR for users in the EU/EEA/UK, where relevant).

7. Children's privacy

Mizanuk is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age defined by your local law), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children in that age group without appropriate consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.

8. International users

Mizanuk is used by people in different countries. Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your own country. Regardless of where it is processed, we apply the same protections and the same promise: your data is never sold or shared with advertisers.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy — for example, when we add a new feature that touches your data — we will update this page and, for material changes, notify you in the app. We will never quietly expand what we do with your data without telling you first.

10. Contact us

If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding your privacy or this policy, contact us at contact@mizanuk.com.

This document reflects Mizanuk's actual data practices as described by its developer. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Before relying on it for an App Store / Google Play submission with users in the EU/EEA, have it reviewed by a legal professional — GDPR treats religious data as a special category requiring extra care.
